The UPC Computational Geometry Seminar is organized by the Research Group on Discrete, Combinatorial and Algorithmic Geometry of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, under the responsability of Prof. Hurtado. The Seminar started its regular sessions at the beginning of the course 1993-1994. Since then, it has been regularly hold once a week, in the period september-june. Students in the UPC PhD Program in Applied Mathematics can also attend the Seminar as an Advanced Course. Usually, the sessions take place on Wednesdays, from 12 to 2.
Contents. The Seminar is fundamentally devoted to the presentation of original research results in the area of Discrete, Combinatorial and Algorithmic Geometry, paying special attention at the problems coming from the engineering fields, particularlly from Computer Science. Some of the sessions are also dedied to the presentation of recently appeared papers, as well as to approach some open problems. Occasionally, the Seminar hosts monographic courses taught by specialists, in sets of eight or ten sessions.
